Ekosistem mangrove memiliki banyak manfaat langsung bagi manusia berupa produk ataupun jasa antara lain dapat menyediakan pangan dan objek wisata alam, pemanfaatan jasa ekosistem berupa ekowisata akan mendorong upaya konservasi ekosistem mangrove. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik masyarakat yang terlibat dalam pengelolaan Ekowisata Hutan Mangrove Sunge Jingkem, menganalisis kontribusi Ekowisata Hutan Mangrove Sunge Jingkem terhadap pendapatan masyarakat serta mengidentifikasi tingkat kesejahteraan rumah tangga masyarakat pengelola ekowisata. Pengumpulan data primer dilakukan dengan wawancara kepada masyarakat pengelola Ekowisata Hutan Mangrove Sunge Jingkem sebanyak 35 orang serta melalui studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kontribusi ekowisata terhadap pendapatan total rata-rata rumah tangga masyarakat berkisar 5% sampai 100%. Responden pengelola ekowisata termasuk kategori sejahtera menurut indikator kesejahteraan Bank Dunia, namun pendapatan mayoritas responden masih di bawah Upah Minimum Kabupaten (UMK) Bekasi.

Mangrove ecosystems have many direct benefits to people in the form of products or services, including the ability to provide food and natural attractions. The use of mangrove ecosystem services in the form of ecotourism will promote the conservation of mangrove ecosystem. This study aims to identify the characteristics of the community involved in the management of Sunge Jingkem Mangrove Forest Ecotourism in Bekasi District, analyse the contribution of Sunge Jingkem Mangrove Forest Ecotourism to community income and household welfare. Primary data was collected by interviewing 35 people who involved in management of the Sunge Jingkem Mangrove Forest Ecotourism. The research results show that the contribution of ecotourism to the average total household income ranges from 5% to 100%. Respondents who manage ecotourism are classified as prosperous category according to World Bank welfare indicators, but the majority of respondents incomes are still below the Bekasi Regency Minimum Wage (UMK).
