The Human Resource Development (HRD) information system at PT Asta Protek Jiarsi is currently tested manually. Although this method provides a deep understanding of the application, manual testing often consumes a lot of time. With technological advancements, automated testing methods have emerged as an alternative to expedite the testing process. The aim of this study is to perform both manual and automated testing on the HRD information system using the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) framework and to analyze the comparison between these two methods. Cypress was chosen for automated testing due to its advantages in testing web-based applications directly in the browser. This study tested 10 HRD features with three iterations. A total of 64 test scenarios were created. Out of the 64 scenarios, 39 were successful and 25 failed. The results indicate that automated testing is more time-efficient but can only execute 92% of the test scenarios, whereas manual testing can cover 100% of the scenarios. Manual testing involves fewer preparation stages but more implementation steps compared to automated testing.
