      Pengaruh Kadar Perekat Terhadap Kualitas Briket Tempurung Kelapa (Cocos nucivera) Sebagai Bahan Bakar Alternatif

      Abstract
      Kebutuhan akan energi terus meningkat, sedangkan ketersediaan sumber energi semakin berkurang. Oleh karena itu perlunya peningkatan akan penggunaan energi alternatif yang salah satunya berasal dari limbah tempurung kelapa dalam bentuk briket sebagai bahan bakar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat produk briket yang sesuai dengan SNI No.1/6235/2000 dan menentukan kadar perekat yang terbaik yang menghasilkan briket dengan kadar air dan abu rendah, nilai kalor yang tinggi, kuat terhadap benturan, waktu pembakaran yang lama, dan biaya produksi yang rendah. Dalam penelitian ini, terdapat tiga perlakuan dalam penggunaan kadar perekat, yaitu 4%, 5%, dan 6% dengan tiga kali pengulangan untuk masing-masing perlakuan (triplo). Pengujian yang dilakukan berupa uji kadar air, kadar abu, laju pembakaran, nilai kalor, drop test, dan biaya yang dibutuhkan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis keenam faktor yang diuji, diketahui bahwa briket dengan kadar perekat 4% merupakan yang paling baik diantara ketiga perlakuan yang dilakukan.
       
      The consumption of energy is increasing, meanwhile the amount of energy resources are keep decreasing. Therefore, the utilization of alternative fuel need to be increased, one of the alternative fuel comes from the waste of coconut shells as a briquette. This research aims to make a briquette that accordance with SNI No.1/6235/2000 and determine which adhesive level is the best which produce briquette with low moisture and ash content, high calor content, resistant to breakage, long burning time, and low production cost. This research uses three treatment which are 4%, 5%, and 6% and analyze moisture content, ash content, burning rate, caloric rate, drop test, and price. After analyze all of the six factors, it turned out that briquette with 4% of adhesive is the best product within the three experiments
