      Pengendalian Risiko Kesehatan Lingkungan Akibat Pajanan Benzene dan Xylene di Painting Area PT Komatsu Undercarriage Indonesia

      Abstract
      Manufaktur merupakan industri yang memproduksi bahan baku menjadi produk setengah jadi atau produk jadi. PT Komastu Undercarriage Indonesia adalah salah satu industri manufaktur yang bergerak dalam memproduksi alat berat. Proses pengecatan produk merupakan salah satu proses produksi yang penting di perusahaan tersebut, namun proses painting memberikan dampak negatif bagi para karyawan yang bekerja di painting area. Proses pengecatan menggunakan bahan kimia seperti benzene dan xylene yang digunakan sebagai pelarut cat. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menguraikan bahaya yang dapat terjadi dari pajanan benzene dan xylene, menghitung tingkat risiko dari pajanan benzene dan xylene terhadap para karyawan di painting area, dan menerapkan pengendalian risiko dari pajanan benzene dan xylene. Data diperoleh melalui observasi langsung ke lapangan dan studi literatur. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode Analisis Risiko Kesehatan Lingkungan (ARKL). Pajanan senyawa benzene dan xylene dari hasil penelitian berisiko terhadap kesehatan karyawan, sehingga diperlukan pengendalian risiko. Pengendalian risiko yang dilakukan yaitu menganti Alat Pelindung Diri (APD), awalnya menggunakan APD double masker diganti dengan menggunakan masker respirator. Double masker yang digunakan sebelum pergantian yaitu masker kain dan masker respirator yang belum memiliki sertifikasi yang kemudian diganti dengan masker respirator dan sudah tersertifikasi NIOSH.
       
      The manufacturing industry is an industry that processes raw materials into semi finished products and finished products. PT Komastu Undercarriage Indonesia (KUI) is one of the manufacturing industries engaged in producing heavy equipment. The product painting process is one of the important production processes in the company, but the painting process has a negative impact on employees who work in the painting area. The painting process uses chemicals such as benzene and xylene which are used as paint solvents. Based on these problems, this study was conducted with the aim of describing the dangers that can occur from exposure to benzene and xylene, calculating the level of risk of exposure to benzene and xylene to employees in the painting area, and applying risk control from exposure to benzene and xylene. The data were analyzed using the Environmental Health Risk Analysis (ARKL) method. Exposure to benzene and xylene compounds from research results risks employee health, so risk control is needed. Risk control carried out is replacing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), initially using double mask PPE replaced by using a respirator mask. Double masks used before the change are cloth masks and respirator masks that do not have certification which are then replaced with respirator masks and have been certified NIOSH.
