Fraksionasi Bahan Organik Tanah pada Bahan Induk Tanah yang Berbeda di Kebun Pendidikan Cikabayan
Abstract
berbahan induk endapan lahar (P3).
permukaan tanah berbahan induk tuf volkan. Soil Organic Matter (SOM) is derived from the decomposition of plant and
animal residues, either wholly or partially. Variations in soil-forming factors such
as parent material, topography, climate, organisms, and time can lead to differences
in the content, form, and distribution of SOM. Based on its bonding form, SOM can
be fractionated into free SOM, clay-bound SOM, and sesquioxide-bound SOM.
This study aims to understand the distribution of SOM based on its bonding form,
soil depth, and its relationship with the clay content in different parent materials.
The research was conducted on three types of soils in the Cikabayan IPB
Educational Garden: soil with volcanic tuff parent material (P1), soil with claystone
parent material (P2), and soil with lahar deposit parent material (P3). The results
indicated that the absolute levels of clay-bound SOM and sesquioxide-bound SOM
decrease with soil depth, while free SOM exhibited a different pattern in each soil
type. In terms of proportion to Total SOM, each fraction displayed a distinct pattern
in each profile. The highest free SOM and sesquioxide-bound SOM was observed
in the surface layer of soil with claystone parent material. In this study, clay-bound
SOM was the most dominant form compared to free SOM and sesquioxide-bound
SOM, with the highest concentration in the surface layer of soil with volcanic tuff
parent material.
