      Abstract

Timor deer (Rusa timorensis) is Indonesia’s endemic animal which introduced outside their natural habitat. Introductions are carried out for various purposes, one of which is for support conservationists such as on the Komodo Island. The aims of the study were to identify the suitability of the Timor deer's habitat and analyze the habitat components that influence its distribution on Komodo Island. The data comes from installing camera traps for 2 weeks at 14 points that installed with corn bait in February-March 2023. Supported by data on the presence of deer from the TNK in 2022. Data analysis using multicollinearity and maximum entropy produced model and habitat suitability values. The presence obtained was 33 (primary) and 870 (secondary). (AUC = 0,941) with class divisions are not suitable (0,58 ha), less suitable (29.434,28 ha), quite suitable (1498,31 ha), suitable (1309,88 ha) and very suitable (167,46 ha). Altitude, temperature and number patch are the most influential factors in the suitability of Timor deer habitat. They likes lowlands, warm temperatures and unified land cover. Savana and moonson forest are the most preferred land cover.
