      Abstract
      Penyaradan log secara manual merupakan salah satu rangkaian kegiatan pemanenan kayu yang menggunakan tenaga manusia secara intensif. Penggunaan tenaga manusia secara intensif merupakan pekerjaan manual material handling (MMH). Pekerjaan MMH dengan beban berat memberikan gaya tekan yang besar pada tulang belakang ruas L5/S1. Gaya tekan yang besar, dikerjakan dengan postur janggal, secara repetitif serta dalam durasi yang lama dapat menimbulkan gangguan kesehatan otot rangka atau sering disebut musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Penelitian bertujuan menghitung gaya tekan pada L5/S1, serta menganalisis tingkat risiko MSDs. Postur kerja yang dilakukan saat melakukan pekerjaan penyaradan dianalisis menggunakan Range of Motion (ROM), Ovako Work Posture Analysis System (OWAS) sehingga dapat diketahui risiko MSDs berdasarkan postur yang dilakukan, sementara biomekanik digunakan untuk mengetahui risiko MSDs berdasarkan gaya tekan yang diterima pekerja. Hasil analisis objektif dibandingkan dengan analisis kuesioner keluhan rasa sakit dari standart nordic questionnaire (SNQ) untuk validasi. Gaya tekan yang diterima pekerja melewati batas aman yang dapat diterima. Terdapat risiko MSDs yang tinggi pada kegiatan penyaradan log secara manual berdasarkan analisis. MSDs muncul saat pekerja melakukan proses mengangkat log. Pekerja menderita MSDs pada bagian pinggul dan lutut berdasarkan hasil wawancara.
       
      Skidding is one of forest harvesting that uses human labor intensively which includes manual material handling work (MMH). MMH with heavy loads puts a large compression force on the L5/S1. Large compression force, awkward posture for a long duration and repetitively will cause musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Study was to calculate the compression force on the L5/S1 and identify risk of MSDs. Work posture was analyzed by Range of Motion (ROM) and Ovako Work Posture Analysis System (OWAS) so the MSDS is known based on work posture, while biomechanics is used to determine MSDs based on compression force. The results of the objective analysis were compared with standard nordic questionnaire for validation. The compression force received by workers exceeds the action limit. There is a high MSDs risk in manual skidding based on analysis. MSDs risk arises when workers carry out the lifting process. Workers suffer from MSDs on the hips and knees based on the results of the interview.
