      Analisis Tampang Lintang Makroskopik Tempurung Kelapa dan Pasir Zirkon sebagai Perisai Radiasi Neutron Melalui Pengujian Difraksi Sinar-X.

      Abstract
      PUTRI MULYANI Analisis Tampang Lintang Makroskopik Tempurung Kelapa dan Pasir Zirkon sebagai Perisai Radiasi Neutron Melalui Pengujian Difraksi Sinar-X. Dibimbing oleh ABD. DJAMIL HUSIN dan SULISTIOSO GIAT SUKARYO. Keefektivitas perisai radiasi neutron beton dipengaruhi oleh nilai tampang lintang makroskopik bahan pembentuk beton. Semakin tinggi nilai tampang lintang makroskopik maka semakin banyak material menyerap neutron. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi unsur, komposisi fasa, dan perhitungan tampang lintang makroskopik pada tempurung kelapa dan pasir zirkon melalui pola difraksi sinar-x menggunakan metode Rietveld refinement. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tempurung kelapa memiliki 2 fasa dan 6 unsur dengan nilai indeks kecocokan GoF yaitu 3.151 %. Pasir zirkon memiliki 3 fasa dan 6 unsur dengan nilai indeks kecocokan GoF 2.727 %. Hasil perhitungan nilai tampang lintang makroskopik pada sampel tempurung kelapa sebesar 1.060 x 10-2 cm^(-1)dan nilai tampang lintang makroskopik pada sampel pasir zirkon sebesar 5.497 x 10-1 cm^(-1). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pasir zirkon memiliki nilai tampang lintang makroskopik yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan tempurung kelapa.
       
      PUTRI MULYANI. Macroscopic Cross-sectional Analysis of Coconut Shell and Zircon Sand as Neutron Radiation Shielding Through X-Ray Diffraction Testing. Supervised by ABD. DJAMIL HUSIN and SULISTIOSO GIAT SUKARYO. The effectiveness of the concrete neutron radiation shielding is influenced by the macroscopic cross-sectional value of the concrete forming material. The higher the value of the macroscopic cross-section, the more the material absorbs neutrons. This study aims to determine the elemental composition, phase composition, and calculation of macroscopic cross-sections of coconut shell and zircon sand through x-ray diffraction patterns using the Rietveld refinement method. The results showed that the coconut shell has 2 phases and 6 elements with a GoF compatibility index value of 3.151 %. Zircon sand has 3 phases and 6 elements with a GoF compatibility index value of 2.727 %. The results of the calculation of the macroscopic cross-sectional value of the coconut shell sample are 1,060 x 10-2 cm-1 and the macroscopic cross-sectional values of the zircon sand sample are 5,497 x 10-1 cm-1. The results showed that zircon sand had a higher macroscopic cross-sectional value than coconut shell.
