      Abstract
Early lactation milk is the milk produced by the mother immediately postpartum and for several days thereafter. It is golden-yellow in color with a thick texture, rich in nutrients and immunoglobulins that are essential for the growth, development and immune system formation of the baby. The purpose of this research is to analyze the composition of Sumatran rhino early lactation milk obtained from the first day to the ninth day after giving birth. The secondary data used in this study is the composition of Sumatran rhinoceros early milk from the breeding center called Sumatran Rhino Sanctuary (SRS). The composition of Sumatran rhino early lactation milk is as follow: 0,86 ± 0,55% fat content; 3,17 ± 0,29% protein content; 4,76 ± 0,43% lactose; 0,71 ± 0,06% ash; 8,65 ± 0,78% solid non-fat; 9,51 ± 1,03% total solids, and density of 1,0330 ± 0,0030. The composition of Sumatran rhino early lactation milk shows low fat and protein content but high lactose content, and it has similarities with the composition of horse and donkey milk. Information regarding the composition of Sumatran rhino milk is crucial for developing optimal milk substitutes and ensuring the health of rhino calves at SRS. This knowledge contributes to the conservation efforts of the Sumatran rhino by promoting breeding activities and enhancing the chances of reintroduction to their natural habitat.

Komposisi susu laktasi awal badak sumatra, yaitu 0,86 ± 0,55% kadar lemak; 3,17 ± 0,29% kadar protein; 4,76 ± 0,43% laktosa; 0,71 ± 0,06% abu; 8,65 ± 0,78% bahan kering tanpa lemak; 9,51 ± 1,03% bahan kering, and berat jenis yaitu 1,0330 ± 0,0030.
