Pesticide application is the most common effort by farmers to control plant pests and diseases. However, the inappropriate use of pesticides can have a negative impact on human health and the environment. This study aimed to measure the level of knowledge, attitudes, and actions of shallot farmers on the use of pesticides in Cirebon Regency. The research was conducted from January to March 2022 through interviews with a structured questionnaire guide. Respondents were selected by purposive sampling based on the population of the farmer who work as shallot farmers in four sub-districts with a total of 60 respondents. The data was processed using Microsoft Excel 2010, then analyzed by using the X2 (chi-square) test at the level of =5% and 10%. The results showed that majority of farmers use synthetic pesticides because they can control pests and diseases more quickly. The majority of farmers used insecticides with the active ingredient chlorantraniliprole, while the fungicide active ingredients used by respondent farmers were propineb and mankozeb. The results of the chi-square test showed that the participation of farmers in the Integrated Pest Management Field School (SLPHT) had a significant relationship with the knowledge and attitudes of farmers in the use of synthetic pesticides in shallot plantations. The level of education affected the attitude of farmers in decision making and had a significant relationship with the actions of farmers in the use of synthetic pesticides in shallot plantations.
