diversifikasi hijauan pakan. Sorgum sangat ideal untuk dikembangkan karena
memiliki daya adaptasi luas, produktivitas tinggi, perlu input pertanian relatif
Data
dianalisis menggunakan analisis varian dan uji Duncan. Hasil pengamatan
menunjukkan bahwa varietas Sorgum 1 menghasilkan tinggi tanaman, panjang
batang, tinggi malai, panjang daun, lebar daun, berat batang, berat daun, berat
Evaluasi kualitas nutrisi diukur
melalui kandungan bahan kering, abu, lemak, protein kasar, karbohidrat dan
energi. Evaluasi komposisi serat diukur melalui kandungan ADF, NDF, selulosa
The lack of knowledge and introduction of forage, farmers in Indonesia
have difficulty in obtaining the livestock nutrition they need, so action is needed
to meet the needs of animal feed. offer ruminants a variety of feed sources and ask
for forage explanations. Sorghum is the best crop to be developed because it is
more tolerant of marginal and dry conditions, has wide adaptability, is very
productive, requires relatively little agricultural input, and is resistant to pests and
diseases. Sorghum is an excellent alternative for animal feed because of its quality,
nutritional value and digestibility. On the other hand, sorghum plants also have
the capacity to encourage the expansion of soil microbes that will emit CO2 as a
result of their operations. The main source of greenhouse gases (GHG) in the
atmosphere is CO2 emissions. The effects of this disease will be felt for centuries.
Selection of high-quality sorghum species is necessary to limit emissions, such as
reducing the amount of CO2 produced by soil microorganisms.
The research was carried out in four parts; The first part of the study aimed
to evaluate the growth and production of several types of sorghum and to
determine the type of sorghum that produced the highest growth and production in
the system. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design
with four types of sorghum treatment and five replications. Data were analyzed
using analysis of variance and Duncan's test. The results showed that the Sorghum
1 variety produced plant height, stem length, panicle height, leaf length, leaf width,
stem weight, leaf weight, panicle weight and total production which were very
significantly (p<0.01) higher than the Samurai 2 variety. Chisel and BMR Patir 37.
The second part of the study aims to examine the dynamics of carbon
dioxide in the sorghum cropping system. This research was conducted using a
completely randomized design, with soil treatment overgrown with 4 types of
sorghum and five replications. The results of the analysis of variance showed that
the incubation time gave significantly different results (p<0.01) on the production
of CO2 and the biomass of soil microorganisms. The results of the BNJ test
showed that the 5th measurement with an incubation period of 21 days resulted in
significantly higher CO2 and soil microorganism biomass (p<0.01) compared to
incubation time on days 1,3,7,14 and 28 days. The results of the analysis of
variance showed that the type of sorghum gave no significant result (p>0.05) on
CO2 production. However, there is a tendency for Samurai 1 and Samurai 2 to be
higher than Pahat and Sorghum BMR Patir 37.
The third part of the study aims to evaluate the nutritional quality and fiber
composition of the sorghum variety and to determine the qualities that produce the
highest quality in the system. Evaluation of nutritional quality was measured by
the content of dry matter, ash, fat, crude protein, carbohydrates and energy.
Evaluation of fiber composition was measured by the content of ADF, NDF,
cellulose and lignin. This study used a completely randomized design with
treatment of four varieties of sorghum and five replications. Data were analyzed
using analysis of variance and BNJ test. The results of the research on nutritional
content showed that the Samurai 1 sorghum variety produced a very significant
dry matter, ash, crude protein, carbohydrate and energy content (p<0.01) higher
than the Samurai 2, Pahat and BMR Patir 37 varieties, and produced a high fat
content. which was very significant (p<0.01) lower than the varieties of Samurai 2,
Pahat and BMR Patir 37. The results of the fiber composition study showed that
the Pahat variety produced significantly higher ADF, cellulose and lignin content
(p<0.01) of the varieties Samurai 1, Samurai 2 and BMR Patir 37.
The fourth part of the study aimed to evaluate the in vitro digestibility of
various varieties of sorghum when tested with the addition of concentrates. The
variables measured were levels of VFA, NH3, KCBK, KCBO, total bacteria, total
protozoa, total gas. The results showed that the Samurai 1 variety combined with
green concentrate (Indigofera zollingeriana) resulted in significantly higher levels
of VFA, NH3, KCBK, KCBO, total bacteria, total protozoa, and total gas
(p<0.01) compared to other combinations.
From the results of the study, it was concluded that the highest biomass
production (stems, leaves, and panicles) was in sorghum samurai 1, followed by
samurai 2, BMR Patir 37, and Pahat. The highest nutritional quality (BK, PK, ash,
carbohydrates, and energy) was found in sorghum samurai 1, followed by Samurai
2, BMR Patir 31, and Pahat. The highest fat content was in chiseled sorghum,
followed by BMR Patir 37, samurai 2 and samurai 1. Meanwhile, the lowest crude
fiber was in sorghum BMR Patir 37, samurai 2, samurai 1, and Pahat. The best
digestibility value was found in the type of sorghum samurai 1 combined with
Indigofera zollingeriana. Sorghum which produces the highest respiratory CO2
gas production is in the types of sorghum samurai 1, samurai 2, BMR Patir 37,
and the lowest is sorghum Pahat. Based on agronomic and nutritional
characteristics, sorghum Samurai 1 and BMR Patir 37 showed characteristics as
feed crop sorghum, while Samurai 2 sorghum and Pahat sorghum were dual
purpose crop sorghum (feed and food).
