      Abstract
Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a highly fatal disease in cat population which is caused by mutation of feline coronavirus (FCoV). This case study was designed to study and analyse the clinical and laboratories approaches of St Angel Animal Medical Centre, Malaysia in the year of 2021. Analysed patient’s medical records include the anamnesis, signalment, physical examination, laboratory tests (fluid analysis, rapid test kits, radiographic imaging/X-ray, haematology, and blood biochemistry profiles), and treatment option. Diagnosis of effusive form FIP could be obtained from major clinical signs including lethargy, inappetence, weight loss, fluctuating fever and abdominal distension. In effusive form FIP, noticeable effusions could be found in abdominal region which could be detected by radiographic imaging. Fluid analysis showed positive Rivalta’s test result. FCoV rapid test kit showed positive FCoV antigen and negative FCoV antibody. Hematology test showed microcytic normochromic non-regenerative anemia, lymphopenia, and thrombocytopenia. In biochemistry profile, it showed decreased of albumin/globulin ratio, creatinine, blood urea nitrogen and alkaline phosphatase. Treatments given were supportive therapy, such as fluid therapy, vitamin B12 supplements, appetite stimulants, corticosteroids, and GS- 441524 antiviral therapy.
