      Infeksi Cacing Strongyle pada Kuda ( Equus cabalus) di Kabupaten Sumba Timur, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur

      Abstract
      Studi cross-sectional dilakukan pada bulan Agustus sampai Oktober 2020 untuk mengetahui prevalensi dan derajat infeksi strongyle pada kuda di Kabupaten Sumba Timur. Sebanyak 65 sampel feses diambil dari sepeluh kecamatan: Tabudung, Lewa Tidahu, Nggaha Ori Angu, Ngadu Ngala, Lewa, Kota Waingapu, Karera, Wula Waijelu, Pahungga Lodu, Katala Hamu Lingu. Pemeriksaan coprological untuk mendeteksi telur cacing strongyle dilakukan menggunakan teknik McMaster dan flotasi. Prevalensi parasit strongyle keseluruhan adalah 49,23% (32 dari 65) dengan derajat infeksi ringan (120,07 telur tiap gram tinja/TTGT). Tidak ada perbedaan nyata prevalensi dan derajat infeksi terhadap kedua jenis kelamin dan usia pada kuda.
       
      A Cross sectional study was conducted from Agustus to Oktober 2020 to estimate the prevalence and intensity of strongyle infection in horses in East Sumba Regency. A total of 65 faecal samples were collected from ten sub-districts: Tabundung, Lewa Tidahu, Nggaha Ori Angu, Ngadu Ngala, Lewa, Waingapu City, Karera, Wula Waijelu, Pahungga Lodu, and Katala H. Coprological examination for the detection of strongyle eggs was performed using McMaster and floatation technique. The overall prevalence of strongyle parasites was 49,23% (32 from 65) with a intensity of mild infection (120,07 eggs per gram/EPG). There was no difference in the prevalence and intensity of infection in both sex and the age of horses.
