dc.description.abstractBadak sumatera berada di ambang kepunahan akibat perburuan dan kehilangan habitat. Badak yang keluar dari habitatnya (doomed) dan terisolasi diselamatkan dan ditranslokasi ke Suaka Rhino Sumatera (SRS) Taman Nasional Way Kambas dalam rangka melindungi dan membiakkan mereka untuk konservasi. Tujuan dari studi ini adalah mendapatkan ekokardiogram, dimensi, dan fungsi jantung pada badak sumatera. Ekokardiografi pertama kali dilakukan pada tujuh ekor badak sumatera di SRS tanpa anestesi untuk mendapatkan gambaran dan dimensi jantung. Teknik ekokardiografi dua dimensi Brightness-Mode dan Motion-Mode dari berbagai sudut pandang dilakukan pada posisi berdiri dalam kondisi sadar. Berdasarkan pemeriksaan, gambaran four chamber yang jelas didapatkan dari sudut pandang left parasternal (LPS), sedangkan gambaran five chamber didapatkan dari sudut pandang left apical (LAp) maupun right Apical (RAp). Pengukuran jantung dilakukan dengan Motion-Mode dari sudut pandang LPS short axis untuk mendapatkan dimensi dan fungsi jantung. Tidak ada perbedaan yang nyata pada hasil pengukuran jantung dari segi jenis kelamin (P>0,05). Ekokardiogram badak sumatera menunjukkan kemiripan morfologis dengan ruminansia dan kuda, terutama dalam hal jantung dengan empat ruangan, septum yang lengkap, dan struktur katup. Ekokardiografi dapat dilakukan sebagai prosedur non-invasif dalam mengevaluasi struktur, dimensi, dan fungsi jantung badak sumatera.id
dc.description.abstractSumatran rhinoceros is on the brink of extinction due to poaching and habitat lost. The remaining doomed and isolated rhinos were rescued and translocate to the Suaka Rhino Sumatera (SRS) to protect and breed them for conservation. This study was aimed to obtain echocardiogram, cardiac dimension and function of the Sumatran rhino. Echocardiography was performed for the first time on seven Sumatran rhinos at SRS without anesthesia to obtain cardiac appearance and dimension. Two-dimensional Brightness-Mode and Motion-Mode echocardiography were conducted from various views while standing in a conscious state. Based on the examination, clear images of the four chamber were obtained from the left parasternal (LPS) view, while the five chamber images were obtained from the left apical (LAp) and right apical (RAp) views. The cardiac measurements were carried out using Motion-Mode from LPS short axis view to obtain the cardiac dimension and function. There was no significant difference in the results of heart measurements in terms of sex (P>0,05). Echocardiogram of the Sumatran rhinos showed morphological similarities to ruminants and horses, especially the four chambered heart, complete septum, and valves structure. Echocardiography could be performed as a non-invasive procedure in evaluating the structure, dimension, and function of the Sumatran rhino's heart.id
