      Pengaruh Penggunaan Kalsium Silikat (CaSiO3) pada Alas Kandang Karet terhadap Kesehatan Ambing Sapi Perah

      Abstract
      Kejadian mastitis dapat memengaruhi susu yang dihasilkan oleh peternakan sapi perah, salah satu penyebabnya adalah jasad renik patogen. Penggunaan kalsium silikat sebagai bahan antibakteri dan anticendawan diharapkan dapat mengurangi jumlah jasad renik penyebab mastitis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan kalsium silikat (CaSiO3) pada alas kandang karet terhadap kesehatan ambing sapi perah melalui identifikasi keberadaan populasi bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus sp, dan khamir Candida albicans. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga Kelompok Perlakuan yang masing-masing terdiri dari tiga sapi perah dalam masa laktasi. Kelompok Perlakuan 1 sebagai kontrol, Kelompok Perlakuan 2 yang alas kandangnya ditaburi dengan 100 g kalsium silikat, dan Kelompok Perlakuan 3 yang alas kandangnya ditaburi dengan 500 g kalsium silikat. Penebaran kalsium silikat dilakukan dua kali sehari setelah pemerahan baik di peternakan industri maupun peternakan rakyat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kalsium silikat pada alas kandang karet di peternakan industri dapat mengurangi jumlah bakteri S. aureus yang menyebabkan mastitis subklinis pada ambing sapi perah, namun pada peternakan rakyat jumlah jasad reniknya tidak terkendali. Penggunaan kalsium silikat sebanyak 500 g lebih efektif menurunkan jumlah bakteri S. aureus pada hari ke-8 dan 15 di peternakan industri, namun jumlah bakteri Streptococcus sp. dan khamir C. albicans tidak terpengaruh.
       
      The incidence of mastitis can affect the milk production of dairy cattle farm, one of the cause is pathogenic microorganisms. The use of calcium silicate as an antibacterial and anti-fungal agents are expected to reduce the number of microorganisms that causes mastitis. This study aim is to determine the influence of calcium silicate (CaSiO3) usage on housing floor in the dairy cattle udder health through identification of Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus sp. bacterial population and the presence of Candida albicans yeast. This study is classified in to three treatment groups where each group consisted of three lactation period of dairy cows. Treatment Group 1 as a control, Treatment Group 2 by using 100 g of calcium silicate, and Treatment Group 3 by using 500 g of calcium silicate. The usage of calcium silicate was performed twice a day after milking both on industrial and conventional farms. The results showed that the usage of calcium silicate on housing floor in industrial farms can reduce the number of S. aureus bacteria which causes subclinical mastitis in the dairy cattle udders, otherwise, on conventional farms the number of microorganisms are not controlled. The usage of calcium silicate as much as 500 g was more effective in reducing the number of S. aureus bacteria on the day 8 and 15 in industrial farms, however, the number of Streptococcus sp. and the yeast C. albicans were not significantly influenced.
