Decomposition is a state of destruction of animal tissues due to the process of autolysis and putrefaction. In the world of veterinary forensics, this process can be used to determine the time of death of animals. The study aims to provide an overview of the histopathology of the organ 48 hours after death. The results of the study are expected to be a reference for veterinary forensic pathology. A total of 75 broiler chickens were euthanized along with cervical dislocation. Chickens were divided into 25 groups, then observed 3 samples of chickens every 2 hours for 48 hours after death. Histopathological data of the decomposition process were quantified using Image J and followed analyzed using a Pearsons tests to observed the correlation (r) between histopathological lesion that occurred with the time of death. Results showed that histopathological lesions in the bursa of Fabricius were decreased of cell density in the follicles, in plika, decrease the number of follicles, desquamation of epithelium plika at the 6th hour PM, and the presence of bacteria at the 24th hour PM. The lessions were increasing by the time of observation. Based on the result mentioned above, it can be concluded that the histopathological lesiona on the bursa of Fabricius can be used to determine the time of death of the chicken cadaver.
