      Abstract
Uli banana is a nutritious plant that functions to prevent diarrhae. This study aims to determine the mechanism of the antidiarrheal effectiveness of the uli banana simplicial (Musa acuminata Colla) given to mice (Mus musculus) with intestinal protection method induced by oleum ricini and intestinal transit. The parameters observed were the frequency of diarrhae, the consistency of diarrhea, and the ratio of marker passages in the intestines of mice. The results showed that the negative control group (distilled water) had an average stool frequency of 2.6 with an average marker trajectory of 62%. The positive control group (loperamide) had an average stool frequency of 2.0 with an average marker trajectory of 49%. The simplicia group with 20 mg/kg BW dose had an average stool frequency of 3.4 with an average marker trajectory of 61%. The simplicia group with 40 mg/kg BW dose had an average stool frequency of 1.4 with an average marker trajectory of 47%. The simplicia group with 80 mg/kg BW dose had an average stool frequency of 1.2 with an average marker trajectory of 33%. The test results showed that banana uli simplicia had an antidiarrheal effect with a protection method induced by oleum ricini. Suitable intestinal transit method and could inhibit intestinal peristalsis compared to the negative and positive control groups. The simplicia group at a dose of 80 mg/kg BW had the best efficacy as an antidiarrheal.
