Material zinc, aluminium, magnesium, dan alloy-nya merupakan logam terdegradasi (biodegradable) sebagai material dasar urinary stent. Penggunaan material terdegradasi menjadi solusi untuk tindakan operasi tambahan setelah terapi selesai. Biokompatibilitas suatu alat yang berbahan dasar biomaterial logam harus dinilai sebelum dipasarkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi respon tubuh setelah pemasangan material implan Zn-alloy pada vesika urinaria babi melalui profil darah, urinalisis, monitoring klinis, dan ultrasonogafi. Penelitian ini menggunakan 9 ekor babi jantan dan betina (jenis kelamin tidak dibedakan) berusia 4 – 5 bulan. Hewan dikelompokkan menjadi 3 berdasarkan jenis implan, yaitu: Zn-0.5Al, ZnMg (3x), dan ZnMg(4x). Selama proses perlakuan dan koleksi sampel hewan dalam kondisi teranestesi dengan kombinasi zoletil (zolazepam dan tiletamin) dan xylazine. Sebelum implantasi, 3mL sampel darah diambil dari vena femoralis. Sampel urin sebanyak 10 ml dikoleksi dengan teknik cystocentesis dengan bantuan ultrasonografi. Sampel urin diperiksa dengan strip test urinalisis sesegera mungkin setelah koleksi sampel Seluruh material diimplankan pada mukosa ventral vesika urinari dengan teknik cystotomy. Pemeriksaan ultrasonografi periimplan dan dinding vesika urinaria dilakukan setelah material logam diimplantasi. Monitoring gejala klinis seperti dysuria, stranguria, dan sakit pada abdomen diamati selama 7 hari post operasi implan. Pengambilan sampel darah, urin, dan pemeriksaan USG diulang pada hari ke-14 dan hari ke-28 pascaimplantasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan Zn-0.5Al, ZnMg (4x), dan ZnMg(3x) memiliki hemokompatibilitas yang baik. Hasil monitoring klinis menunjukkan tidak ada hewan yang menunjukkan gejala dysuria, stranguria, dan sakit pada abdomen. Pemeriksaan sampel urin juga menunjukkan hasil material ZnMg dan Zn-0.5Al tidak memengaruhi kondisi fisik dan kimiawi urin babi. Perbandingan ukuran dinding VU dan periimplan menunjukkan hasil yang berbeda nyata pada kelompok Zn-0.5Al pada hari pengamatan ke-0 dan hari ke-28 karena peradangan ringan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis profil darah, monitoring klinis, urinalisis, dan ultrasonografi, material Zn-0.5Al, ZnMg (4x), dan ZnMg(3x) layak menjadi bahan dasar urinary stent. Zinc, aluminum, magnesium, and their alloys are biodegradable metals used as the base materials for urinary stent. The use of biodegradable material is a solution to additional surgical procedure after treatment is completed. Biocompatibility of an apparatus with metal biomaterial base material should be assessed before market. This research aimed to evaluate body response after the implantation of Zn-allow implant material on swine urinary vesicle through the observation of blood profile, urinalysis, clinical monitoring, and ultrasonography. This research used 9 male and female swine (gender was overlooked) aged 4-5 months. Animals were grouped into 3 based on the type of implant used, which were: Zn-0.5Al, ZnMg (3x), and ZnMg(4x). During treatment and sample collection, animlas were anesthesized with a combination of zoletil (zolazepam and tiletamine) and xylazine. Before implantation, 3mL blood sample was taken from femoral vein. Urine sample as much as 10 ml was collected by cystocentesis with the help of ultrasonography. Urine sample was examined by urinalysis strip test right after sample collection. All materials were implanted on the ventral mucosa of urinary vesicle with cystotomy technique. Ultrasonography observation of periimplant area and urinary vesicle wall were performed after metal material was implanted. Clinical symptoms such as dysuria, stranguria, and abdominal pain were monitored for 7 days post implant surgery. Blood sample and urine collection as well as ultrasonography were repeated on day 14 and day 28 post implant surgery. Analysis data showed that Zn-0.5Al, ZnMg (4x), and ZnMg(3x) have good hemocompatibility. Clinical symptoms monitoring found that no animal developed dysuria, stranguria, and abdominal pain. Urine sample examination also showed that ZnMg and Zn-0.5Al material product did not influence the physical and chemical condition of swine urine. The size comparison of vesica urinary wall and periimplant area showed significantly different result in Zn0.5Al on day 0 and day 28 caused by minor inflammation. Based on blood profile analysis, clinical monitoring, urinalysis, and ultrasonography, Zn-0.5Al, ZnMg (4x), and ZnMg(3x) materials are suitable to be used as urinary stent base materials.
