One way to achieve time and cost efficiency is to seek the suitability of the use of wood harvesting equipment. The study was carried out in the Industrial Plantation Forest of PT. Sumatra Riang Lestari-Block I , Sei Kebaro, South Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra). This study aims to analyze the amount of harvesting equipment needed based on work productivity, production targets and equipment costs. The results showed that the number of tools for harvesting wood from the felling stage to loading there was an excess of tools. Efficient wood harvesting equipment based on production targets consists of 13 chainsaw units, 10 excavator units, and 5 debarker units. The production costs incurred in the scenario of the ideal number of tools are more efficient than the production costs in the scenario of the actual number of tools.
