      Karakteristik Kuat Tekan Aksial Kayu Mersawa (Anisoptera sp) dengan Perkuatan Baja Ringan Profil C

      Abstract
      Pada konstruksi kayu, sering kali kayu dengan kelas kuat I menjadi pilihan utama, tetapi tidak sedikit juga penggunaan kayu dengan kelas yang lebih rendah karena keterbatasan sumber daya. Mengingat hal tersebut, saat ini baja ringan menjadi salah satu kompetitor dan menjadi alternatif sebagai bahan konstruksi sruktural pengganti kayu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai kekuatan aksial kayu mersawa berdasarkan kombinasi baja ringan-kayu berdasarkan panjang batangnya. Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah sifat fisis (kadarair, kerapatan, dan berat jenis, berdasarkan BS- 373 -1957) dan sifat mekanis (kekuatan tekan aksial,berdasarkan ASTM D-143). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa contoh uji baja ringan memiliki kekuatan tekan aksial yang jauh lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan contoh uji kayu mersawa maupun kombinasi baja ringan-mersawa. Perkuatan menggunakan baja ringan pada kayu dapat meningkatkan kuat tekan aksial sebesar 7.04%.
       
      In wood construction, wood with strength class I is the main choice, but there are also many uses of wood of a lower grade due to limited resources. Currently light steel is competitor and an alternative of wood as a structural construction material. This study aims to determine the value of the axial strength of Mersawa wood based on a combination of light steel-wood and their length. The tests carried out were physical properties (moisture content, density, and density based on BS-373) and mechanical property (axial compressive strength, based on ASTM D-143 ). The results showed that the light steel test sample had a much higher axial compressive strength compared with the Mersawa wood and the Mersawa-light steel combination. Reinforcement using light steel on wood can increase the axial strength by 7.04%.
