      Ketahanan Penetrasi dan Kekuatan Geser Regosol dan Latosol di Bawah Tegakan Bambu

      Abstract
      Bambu berperan penting dalam menekan erosi dan meningkatkan stabilitas tanah. Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji nilai ketahanan penetrasi dan kekuatan geser Regosol dan Latosol di bawah tegakan bambu pada jarak yang berbeda dari rumpun bambu. Lahan bambu yang diteliti berlokasi di Kebun Pendidikan Cikabayan, Institut Pertanian Bogor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai ketahanan penetrasi dan kekuatan geser pada Latosol lebih tinggi dibanding Regosol. Nilai ketahanan penetrasi dan kekuatan geser pada Regosol cenderung semakin besar seiring dengan semakin jauh dari rumpun bambu, sedangkan pada Latosol cenderung semakin besar seiring dengan jarak yang semakin dekat. Perakaran bambu membuat tanah menjadi porous sehingga memudahkan akar untuk menembus tanah. Selain itu, akar bambu dapat menyebabkan adanya penguatan tanah karena kuat tariknya yang tinggi sehingga meningkatkan nilai kekuatan geser tanah.
       
      Bamboo plays an important role in supressing erosion and increasing soil stability. The research aims to examine the value of penetration resistance and shear strength of Regosol and Latosol under bamboo stands at difference distance of bamboo clumps. The bamboo land is located in Cikabayan Educational Field, IPB University. The results showed that the value of penetration resistance and shear strength in Latosol was higher than Regosol. The value of penetration resistance and shear strength in Regosol tends to get bigger with the distance from bamboo clumps, whereas in Latosol it tends to get bigger as the distance gets closer. Bamboo roots could make soil become porous so that it could be easier for the roots to penetrate into soil. In addition, bamboo roots could reinforce soil strength because of its high tensile that could increase the value of soil shear strength
