Peningkatan Produktivitas melalui Modifikasi Peralatan dan Metode Produksi di PT. Buana Segar Lestari, Tangerang Selatan.

Abstract

Manufacturing plant affects many aspects of food production. One of those important aspects it affects is productivity. Low productivity often results in low yield, huge loss, and undoubtedly reduced revenue. Due to the importance of those impacts, any problems affecting productivity should be addressed immediately with appropriate measures. In PT. Buana Segar Lestari, these productivity problems include inefficient processing technology, bottleneck processes, and non-value-adding production process. In order to handle those problems, modification of manufacturing equipments and methods are necessary. The modifications are focused on improving filling efficiency by modification of filling equipment and reducing process cycle time by eliminating bottleneck processes. This internship assess the productivity of PT. Buana Segar Lestari before and after modifications in four aspects: production efficiency, length of process steps, material flow analysis, and line capacity efficiency. After modification, production efficiency increase by 8.54 percent, while 2 bottleneck processes are successfully eliminated. Amount of products waiting in bottleneck process is also reduced from 3372 bottles to only 1508 bottles, while the maximum capacity for 8 hours production increase from 4032 bottles to 7694 bottles. Through those improvement, the line capacity efficiency also increase from 42,70% to 64,60%. Thus, the modifications to manufacturing equipment and methods are proven to be able to increase productivity in PT. Buana Segar Lestari, South Tangerang.
