      Abstract
Snake fruits is one of the agricultural commodities that have good prospects for development. Snake fruits is a local fruit comodity wich has some chracteristics : perishable and short shelf life. One of techniques to extend the shelf life of fruits is application of active packaging. Zeolit is one type of absorbent that can be used to inhibit growth rate of ethylene to extend the shelf life of fruit. In this study, snake fruits on plastic package is added by zeolit powder with a doses 5 and 10%. This doses of zeolit is calculated from initial weight of snake fruits. The result showed that zeolit doses 5% has better effect based on damaged level of snake fruts during storage compared to doses 10%. Quality changes during storage of snake fruits. This can be seen from the decrease in snake fruits chemical components. The value of total acids, Vitamin C, and total solid suspended levels desreased from the consecutive 0.67-0.58%, 2.20-1.58 mg/100 g, and 16-11ºBrix. Application packaging of zeolit on snake fruits with increased shelf life until 17 days with 50% level of damage. Organoleptic test result showed up to the 10 days of storage, generally snake fruits are acceptable to the panelists. But on the 20 day of storage, generally snake fruits can’t be acceptable by the panelists.
