Abstract
Land and water are the most important elements that support agriculture. Land use is the way of planning land usage of certain area, by dividing it based on specific functions of settlement, paddy field, plantation, industry, etc. The purposes of this research are to identify land use and irrigation availability for planting, and to find out irrigation sufficiency in two villages around campus. Irrigation requirement for the both villages were sufficient. Although the agriculture area is wide, it was only used for planting of palawija. Based on the result of the both villages availability, the land can be planted with the pattern of paddy-paddy-palawija. Irrigation requirements were obtained using Cropwat. In Cihideung Udik Village, the irrigation requirement was 0.07751 l/s and the average daily debit was 22.36 l/s. In Cihideung Ilir Village, the values obtained were respectively 0.29313 l/s and 23.39 l/s. These values showed that both villages have sufficient water supply. The average daily debit were far bigger than the irrigation requirement. A change in land use was also discovered, from farming area to settlement. Total farming area in 2009 (village profile) was less than the one in 2008 (Bakosurtanal).
