      Abstract
      Development of palm oil midrib biopellet business needed complete, integrated and up to date information. The objectives of this work is to identify critical factors in biopellet midrib palm oil business, to design an UML-based business information systems for biopellet agro-industry, and to evaluate the results of business information systems. The modeling is based on the object-oriented system development using UML (Unified Modeling Language) which consisted of use case diagrams, activity diagrams, collaboration diagrams, sequence diagrams, class diagrams, and physical data model. Critical factors in biopellet midrib palm oil business were the availability of raw materials or oil palm plantations, the balance of energy produced versus the energy required, the determination of industrial location, and scheduling the location of raw materials and investment feasibility. The developed business information system, more efficient in program code usage and easy to develop.
