      Abstract
Logistics affects the efficiency and effectiveness of the business process. The logistics vehicle monitoring process at PT XYZ is simple but requires special attention. Logistics monitoring at PT XYZ is a cold supply chain that has a critical point in the transportation process. Manual monitoring involves many labor- intensive processes that became a problem that can cause inefficiency and infectivity in the logistics sector. This research aims to analyze the required process of logistic monitoring along the transportation stage of PT XYZ division NTL, designing components of the vehicle monitoring system (VMS), prototyping system components, and evaluating system performance in terms of verification and validation. This research designed a vehicle monitoring system that added with required data entry needed by the industry. The method used in designing the vehicle monitoring system is the waterfall system development life cycle. Designed vehicle monitoring system involves data trip entry by driver and monitoring of asset by logistics coordinator. Monitoring features provided are running trip maps, trip summary, asset table, and adding unit and driver. The performance and behavior components of the vehicle monitoring system have been checked and verified, and the findings were Access time is reduced from 40 second to 10 second, making of utilization report time is reduced from 120 minutes to 2 minutes, and monitoring of the temperature when taking container is existed. Therefore, PT XYZ might use this vehicle tracking system as a monitoring tool to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics processes.
