This study used a cross sectional design. Subjects were 42 dyslipidemic men adults with age > 18 years. The data collected were characteristic, lifestyle, nutritional status, food consumption and blood lipid profile of subject. The results showed that BMI of 83.3% of subjects were above normal category. Spearman correlation test showed that there was a positive correlation between income with smoking habits (r=0.388, p=0.011), and cholesterol intake with waist circumference (r=0.308, p=0.047). Inversely, there were negative correlation between smoking habits with nutritional status [BMI (r=-0.374, p=0.015) & waist circumference (r=- 0.346, p=0.025)], smoking habits with HDL cholesterol (r=-0.394, p=0.010), fiber (r=-0.327, p=0.035) and carbohydrate (r=-0.339 p=0.028) adequacy with total cholesterol. Dislipidemic subjects tend to have higher BMI and waist circumference than normal ones. |
