Abstract: Gurame or carp has a fairly high economic value because it has unique characteristics such as the meat is delicious, large size and one of the most sought after commodity of all circles of society. Poor quality seed and feed fish farmers allegedly used are the main factors causing national production targets were not realized. The maintenance of carp ranging from hatching eggs to achieve a measure of consumption (500 g/individual) is 1.5 years old. One effort in boosting the growth of gurame on the controlled cultivation system in order to reach optimum levels, can be done through genetic enhancement. Application of Recombinant Growth Hormone from grouper kertang has been shown to increase growth in fish. In addition, the implementation of the growth hormone kertang grouper can also accelerate the growth of carp. Recombinant growth hormone can be described as a growth stimulant because it can stimulate the growth of fish. The application of such stimulants is expected to become his own attraction to our products that will sell to farmers. As one of the supporters of the food needs and life that nutritious, carp will provide high nutritional intake, so that many people who will try to consume them. Gurame growing businesses assisted with this growth stimulant, has a very bright prospect to be developed because of the comparative advantage and competitive as well as the opening up of the market share, both to the domestic market as well as overseas markets.
