Title: Penentuan Dosis Perendaman Hormon Pertumbuhan Rekombinan Ikan Kerapu Kertang pada Pascalarva Udang Galah

Abstract: This research was conducted to determine the immersion dose of recombinant giant grouper growth hormone (rElGH) that generates high growth performance in giant freshwater prawn. The study was consisted of 5 treatments with three replications. Those were immersion dose of 0.15 mg/L, 1.5 mg/L and 15 mg/L. As control post larval-35 (PL-35) was without treatment (control-1) and PL-35 was immersed in water containing 100 mg/L bovine serum albumin (BSA) without rElGH (control-2). In amount of 30 PL-35 for each treatment were bath immersed for 1 hour in a plastic packing containing 200 mL of water and 100 mg/L BSA. PL were further maintained for 12 weeks in the 30-L glass aquarium and fed flake form of commercial diet 3 times daily, at satiation. The results showed that the highest of biomass (58.77±1.98 gram), specific growth (6.85±0.01 % per day), average body weight (1.09±0.01 gram) and average total body length (5.09±1.01 cm) were obtained in 15 mg/L dose of treatment (p<0.05). Biomass of the prawn in 15 mg/L immersion dose was approximately 79.9% higher than control-1 (32.67±1.45 gram). Survival of prawn in all treatment and controls were similar (p>0.05). The prawn immersed with rElGH at a dose of 15 mg/L had 9.55% lower protein content, while lipid content was 6.33% higher than control. Thus, the immersion of PL in 15 mg/L rElGH could increase the growth of giant freshwater prawn, and can be useful to increase the aquaculture production.
