Abstract: Imfflamation in liver tissue caused by free radical metabolism results of toxic compounds such as alcohol, paracetamol, and carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) cause prevalence of liver disease more increased. This research was conducted to investigate antioxidant activity of propagule mangrove (R.mucronata) as a hepatoprotector and determined the level effect of specific liver enzymes, liver MDA, and histopathological studies. Results showed ethanol extract of mangrove propagule has antioxidant activity about 0,72 ppm. Treatment of propagule mangrove extract had a hepatoprotective effect on liver tissue were illustrated by enzyme levels of AST, ALT, MDA, and histopathological studies. Results showed that the best dose showing optimum recovery effect in level AST enzyme was 1 mg/kg BW with activity about 23,6 U/L, in level ALT enzyme was 5 mg/kg BW activity 14,3 U/L, level of MDA was 5 mg/kg BB activity 62,12 U/L. Highest hepatoprotective activity in histopathological studies showed by 5 mg/kg BB dosing.
