Abstract: | Green building is effective way to reduce energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, sick building syndrome, and the overall environmental impacts of development patterns. In Indonesia, this concept began to develop since 2009 by the formation of GBCI (Green Building Council Indonesia) that produced tools analysis ratings known as GREENSHIP. GREENSHIP is a device to assess the extent a building has applied the green building concept. The application of green building is based on six criteria i.e. appropriate site development, energy efficiency and conservation, water conservation, material resources and cycle, indoor health and comfort, and building environment management. PT. Mercedes-Benz Indonesia (MB-Ina) is one of the largest car manufacturers in Indonesia, where the production process in a responsible manner always consider the environmental aspects. The objective of the research was to evaluate the application of green building at Mercedes-Benz Indonesia (MB-Ina) according to GREENSHIP criteria and provide recommendations for improvements to the MB-Ina.. The result was expected to be one of important elements for the managers to improve the company operational quality and environmental awareness. Research methodology includes qualitative and quantitative analysis methods. Qualitative analysis of interviews conducted with the manager level. While quantitative analysis is based on a survey directly to the field. Analysis results in the application of green building show that the MB- Ina has implemented 59% or 69 of the 117 points that have been set. MB-Ina achieved gold level in the application of the concept of green building. |
