Abstract: In 2011, bagan apung was the second largest fishing gear after kincang. It made up 23% of total fishing gears in Palabuhanratu. From 2007 to 2010, the number of the gear has decreased by 4%/year, how ever in 2011., it increased 12%. It was because the efficiency and the effectiveness of bagan apung was higher as compared to other gears. The change of the gear numbers, showed the performance of bagan apung fishing unit from catches composition and financial analysis.
