Abstract: | Indonesia is major source of live coral in International trade, where the Spermonde Islands Makassar is represent of the main colletion area, so that the population of several coral species have been decreased. This research aims to know the population stock, to determine formula for the sustainble coral quota. In this research was used individual cencus of coral taxa ib belt transect by swept area. There are four stages to determine the sustainble quota setting are calculating the coral population i spesific area and some factors that have effect on, determining the dinamic population, selection of diameter colony size which can be exploited and then determining the sustainble quota. Consequently, Catalaphyllia jardinei is overexploitation species, it must be stoped harvesting from spermonde reefs. One of important considering is diameter of coral colony size selection which may be exploited. About 10-30 percent of dinamic population of colonies size selection is reach to sustainble quota for Spermonde Area Harvesting. |
