dc.description.abstractPoultry industrials are very important in protein supplied. Antibiotic was used to prevented and controled diseases, but it brings negatived effect to carcass. Turmeric and garlic known as herbal medicine that has active material of curcumin and allicin. This active material can improve performance, health status and immune response of broiler. Zinc oxide (ZnO) function as antioxidant and to give immune response to broiler. This experiment was conducted to study the combination of turmeric (1.5%), garlic (2.5%) with ZnO (180 ppm) in poultry diet on the performance and immune response of Escherichia coli – challenged broiler. Data were analized by using A Completely Randomized Design followed by the LSD test for any significant difference among treatments. Two hundred d.o.c unsexed were devided into five treatments and four replications, with ten chicks in each replicates. The treatments were R1 (basal diet as a negative control/ healhty chickens), R2 (basal diet as a positive control/ Escherichia coli challenged), R3 (basal diet +1.5% turmeric powder + ZnO 180 ppm/ Escherichia coli challenged), R4 (basal diet + 2.5% garlic powder + ZnO 180 ppm/ Escherichia coli challenged), and R5 (basal diet + antibiotic/ Escherichia coli challenged). Data were collected during 35 days, diet and water were offered ad libitum. The results of this research indicated that chickens fed basal diet + 1.5% turmeric powder + ZnO 180 ppm/ challenged Escherichia coli and chickens fed basal diet + 2.5% garlic powder +ZnO 180 ppm/ challenged Escherichia coli showed performances better than control . The basal diet + 2.5% garlic powder +ZnO 180 ppm/challenged Escherichia coli showed the best result on immune response with improved immunoglobulin level more than antibiotic.en
dc.description.abstractIndustri perunggasan sangatlah penting dalam penyediaan protein hewani. Antibiotik sering digunakan untuk mencegah dan mengendalikan penyakit, tetapi antibiotik dapat menimbulkan residu dalam karkas ternak. Bawang putih dan kunyit merupakan tanaman obat tradisional yang memiliki zat aktif allisin dan kurkumin . Zat aktif ini dapat digunakan untuk memperbaiki performa, status kesehatan dan meningkatkan respon imun sebagai antibakteri. Mineral Zink (ZnO) berfungsi sebagai antioksidan dan meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh ternak. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian kombinasi kunyit (1.5%), garlic (2.5%) with ZnO (180 ppm) terhadap performa dan respon imun ayam pedaging yang diinfeksi Escherichia coli. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis statistik dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut bila terdapat perbedaan diantara perlakuan. Dua ratus ekor DOC dibagi ke dalam 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, setiap ulangan terdiri dari 10 ekor. Ransum perlakuan R1 (ransum basal sebagai kontrol negatif/ ayam sehat), R2 (ransum basal sebagai kontrol positif/ ayam diinfeksi Escherichia coli), R3 (ransum basal + 1.5% serbuk kunyit + ZnO 180 ppm/ ayam diinfeksi Escherichia coli), R4 (ransum basal + 2.5% serbuk bawang putih + ZnO 180 ppm/ ayam diinfeksi Escherichia coli), dan R5 (ransum basal + antibiotik/ ayam diinfeksi Escherichia coli). Pemeliharaan dilakukan selama 35 hari, ransum dan air minum diberikan ad libitum. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian kombinasi kunyit 1.5% dengan ZnO 180 ppm dan kombinasi bawang putih 2.5% dengan zink 180 ppm dalam ransum mampu memperlihatkan performa dan status kesehatan yang lebih baik. Pemberian kombinasi bawang putih 2.5% dengan ZnO 180 ppm dalam ransum meningkatkan kadar imunoglobulin serum, sehingga dapat menjadi alternatif sebagai antimikroba alami dalam ransum ayam pedaging.
