Abstract: Objective of this research was to determine and compare the communication behavior between urban farmers and rural nual farmers to showed indirect effect of media industrialization. The research was designed as a survey, conducted on October and November 1997 in Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi, West Java, involved 75 farmers in urban village and 75 farmers in rural village. Result of the research showed that the communication behavior of the farmers in urban village characterized by; (1) farmers were less involved in interpersonal communication and listening to the radio, (2) the radio used as news and information source, (3) more exposed by newspaper, and (4) more interesting to watch television.
