Abstract: An experiment to improve growing muscovy ducks performance was conducted using 120 of 21 days old ducks (60 males and 60 females) which were divided into four treatments and three replicates that each contained five duck per cage. Lysin and methionine were added to rice bran This supplementation was based on two methods, i.e. total amino acid requirement (R2) and calculated digestible amino acid (R3). Balanced ration (as control positivfl4) and whole (lOOO/o) rice bran (as control negativfll) were used in this experiment. This study was carried out for 12 weeks. The result showed that performance of the male and female ducks fed whole rice bran diet (Rl) significantly lower (P< 0,05) than that of the three other treatments (RZ, R3, R4), either at 10 or 12 weeks old Feed consumption and feed converstion ratio of the male at 10 weeks of age fed R4 diet, R2 as well as R3 diets was not significant different. On the other hand, the ducks fed R4 diet were significantly higher (P< 0,Ol) in live body weight, body weight gain and carcass weight than those fed the other two supplementation amino acid based diets. Feed consumption of the male at 12 weeks of age received the ration based on total requirement amino acid was eignificantly lower (P < 0,05) than that of standardized diet. The values of feed c ~ p t i r omf th e two supplementation of amino acid based diets (R2a nd R3) were the same. There was no significant difference in feed consumption of the ducks fed calculated digestible amino acid based diet compared to those fed standardized diet. Feed conversion ratio at 12 weeks of age R4 diet better than RZ and R3, RZ as well as R3 diets was not significant different. The results of the female ducks indicated that the ducks fed R1 had sinificantly lower ( P< 0,Ol) performance compared to those fed the other three diets either of 10 or 12 weeks of age. However, the feed consumption of the ducks fed R1 at 10 weeks of age was the same as those fed R2. The performance of the ducks fed R4 was significantly higher (P <O,05) than those fed RZ, except for the feed consumption of R4 and R2 at 10 weeks of age was the same. The feed conversion ratio of the ducks fed RZ R3 and R4 was the same. There was not significant difference for all parameters measured of the ducks fed standardized diet as well as digestible amino acid diet. The values of all parameters observed of the ducks fed the two supplementation amino acid diets were not significant, except the carcass, body weight and body weight gain at 12 weeks old of the ducks fed digestible amino acid based diet were significantly higher (P < 0,Ol) than those fed total amino acid requirement based diet.
