Abstract: Generasi Z menghadapi tantangan ekonomi dan tekanan gaya hidup digital yang memengaruhi kesejahteraan psikologis. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan media sosial, literasi keuangan digital, dan pengetahuan lingkungan terhadap frugality serta kepuasan hidup. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional study dan melibatkan 350 responden Generasi Z (16–28 tahun) yang dipilih melalui voluntary sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Hasil menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan hidup responden tergolong rendah, meskipun memiliki tingkat penggunaan media sosial, pengetahuan lingkungan, dan frugality yang tinggi. Uji hipotesis membuktikan bahwa penggunaan media sosial dan literasi keuangan digital berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap frugality. Namun, pengetahuan lingkungan tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap frugality, mengindikasikan bahwa perilaku hemat lebih didorong oleh motif ekonomi daripada motif ekologis. Selanjutnya, literasi keuangan digital dan frugality berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kepuasan hidup. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pemanfaatan media sosial yang tepat sebagai sumber edukasi finansial, diikuti dengan penguatan literasi keuangan digital, merupakan kunci utama dalam membangun kontrol diri berbasis gaya hidup frugal untuk meningkatkan kepuasan hidup generasi muda di era digital.
Generation Z faces economic challenges and digital lifestyle pressures impacting psychological well-being. This study aims to analyze the influence of social media use, digital financial literacy, and environmental knowledge on frugality and life satisfaction. Using a cross-sectional study design, this study involved 350 respondents of Generation Z (aged 16–28) selected via voluntary sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Results indicate low life satisfaction among respondents, despite high levels of social media use, environmental knowledge, and frugality. Hypothesis testing confirms that social media use and digital financial literacy significantly positively affect frugality. However, environmental knowledge does not significantly affect frugality, suggesting frugal behavior is driven more by economic than ecological motives. Furthermore, digital financial literacy and frugality significantly positively influence life satisfaction. This study concludes that the appropriate use of social media as a source of financial education, followed by strengthening digital financial literacy, is key to building self-control through a frugal lifestyle to enhance the life satisfaction of the young generation in the digital era.
