Abstract: Tingginya proporsi pekerja informal di Jawa Barat selama masa pemulihan pasca Covid-19 menunjukkan ketidakseimbangan antara pertumbuhan ekonomi dan perluasan kesempatan kerja formal.
The high proportion of informal workers in West Java during the post Covid-19 recovery period indicates a growing imbalance between economic expansion and the availability of formal employment opportunities. In this context, individuals in their productive age, particularly those from the Millennial and Generation Z cohorts, face structural pressures that push them toward easily accessible informal jobs. This study aims to identify the micro-level factors that influence the likelihood of working informally among these two generations. Using data from the 2023 Sakernas and a binary logistic regression approach, the findings show that variables such as education level, industry sector, working hours, compliance with minimum wage standards, type of wage payment, and workers’ nominal wages significantly increase the probability of informal employment among Millennials and Generation Z. These results provide important insights for designing labor market policies that are more responsive to the dynamics of the productive-age population in the post- pandemic recovery era.
