Local Microorganisms (MOL) are an alternative rice straw decomposer that is more environmentally friendly and economical than straw burning or the use of EM4 which is relatively expensive. This study aims to determine farmers' habits in processing straw, analyze the increase in farmers' knowledge and attitudes towards the use of LOM, and evaluate the success of the extension program carried out with the Girang Sari 1 Farmers Group in Tegalgirang Village, Bangodua District, Indramayu Regency. The study used a mixed-method approach combining qualitative and quantitative approach, through data collection in the form of field observations, interviews, pretest and posttest questionnaires, documentation, and literature studies. The data collection technique was carried out using a census method for all members of the farmer group. The results showed that before the extension, the majority of farmers had low knowledge (76%) and low attitudes (3%). After the extension, farmers' knowledge and attitudes increased significantly with 90% of farmers in the high category, exceeding the set target of 50%. This proves that the extension is effective in increasing farmers' awareness regarding the use of LOM as a rice straw decomposer.
