Abstract: Pengetahuan gizi umumnya memengaruhi perilaku pemilihan pangan untuk dikonsumsi sehingga tingkat pengetahuan yang rendah dapat membentuk perilaku kecenderungan konsumsi minuman permanis yang tinggi tanpa memerhatikan dampaknya terhadap kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan pengetahuan gizi tentang kandungan gula pada informasi nilai gizi dengan perilaku pembelian minuman manis dalam kemasan pada mahasiswa program studi sarjana gizi dan non-gizi IPB University. Penelitian menggunakan cross sectional dengan 96 subjek yang dipilih melalui stratified random sampling. Hasil uji beda Mann–Whitney menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara mahasiswa gizi dan non-gizi (p<0,05) berdasarkan skor pengetahuan gizi. Mahasiswa gizi memiliki tingkat pengetahuan gizi yang signifikan lebih tinggi dibandingkan mahasiswa non-gizi. Hasil uji beda Independent T-Test dan Chi-Square menunjukkan tidak adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara mahasiswa gizi dan non-gizi (p>0,05) berdasarkan skor perilaku gizi dan tingkat pembelian minuman manis dalam kemasan. Hasil uji menunjukkan tidak adanya hubungan signifikan antara pengetahuan gizi dan perilaku pembelian minuman manis dalam kemasan pada kedua kelompok (p>0,05).
Nutrition knowledge generally influences food selection behavior, where low levels of knowledge may lead to a higher consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages without considering their impact to health. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between nutrition knowledge regarding sugar content on nutrition labels and the purchasing behavior of sweetened packaged beverages among nutrition and non-nutrition undergraduate students of IPB University. This research used a cross-sectional design with 96 participants selected using stratified random sampling. The Mann–Whitney test showed a significant difference in nutrition knowledge scores between nutrition and non-nutrition students (p<0.05). Nutrition students have significantly higher nutrition knowledge compared to non-nutrition students. However, the Independent T-Test and Chi-Square test indicated no significant differences in nutritional behavior scores and the frequency of purchasing sweetened packaged beverages between the two groups (p>0.05). Furthermore, there was no significant relationship between nutrition knowledge and purchasing behavior of sweetened packaged beverages among the two groups (p>0.05).
