Kepok banana peel waste is one of the organic wastes that can pollute the environment if not managed properly. This study aims to make a biocatalyst from kepok banana peel waste and analyze the effect of adding the biocatalyst from kepok banana peel waste in reducing BOD and COD levels of tofu wastewater. The study used two treatments the addition of a biocatalyst and the addition of a biocatalyst and bacteria. The doses of biocatalyst added were 10%, 15%, and 20% with three replications. The results showed that the resulting biocatalyst could not significantly reduce the BOD and COD levels of tofu wastewater. This indicates the need for a biocatalyst purification process before being applied to wastewater to minimize free organic compounds that can potentially increase the pollutant load. Dosage and contact time adjustment also need to be considered so that the degradation process takes place more optimally and does not increase the organic load in the liquid waste.
