Abstract: Laporan akhir ini membahas penerapan teknik editing yang diginakan dalam produksi video iklan promosi Sangsanguniv Indonesia, sebuah komunitas mahasiswa yang bergerak dalam bidang pengembangan kreativitas generasi muda. Latar belakang dari proyek ini didasari oleh pentingnya konten visual yang menarik dan terstruktur dalam menunjang promosi digital, khususnya melalui media video. Video iklan promosi menjadi salah satu bentuk komunikasi visual yang paling efektif dalam membangun citra institusi serta menjangkau audiens yang lebih luas di era media sosial. Untuk mencapai efektivitas komunikasi tersebut, diperlukan teknik editing yang tepat, salah satunya adalah montage editing yang bertujuan agar video menjadi lebih dinamis dan, terstruktur, dan beragam. Proyek ini mencakup tahapan editing secara sistematis menggunakan aplikasi CapCut, yang meliputi pembuatan proyek baru, pengimporan footage, penyusunan materi visual, penambahan efek dan audio, hingga tahap penyelesaian akhir dan publikasi. Subjek proyek adalah mahasiswa aktif di Sangsanguniv Indonesia, sementara lokasi pelaksanaan berada di Universitas Tarumanagara. Data dikumpulkan melalui dokumentasi proses produksi dan analisis visual terhadap hasil akhir video. Alat dan bahan seperti laptop, hardisk eksternal, earphone, script narasi, footage video, dan software editing mendukung keseluruhan proses produksi. Sangsanguniv Indonesia merupakan komunitas mahasiswa yang berfokus pada pengembangan kreativitas generasi muda melalui berbagai kegiatan edukatif dan kolaboratif. Komunitas ini menyediakan ruang bagi mahasiswa untuk mengekspresikan ide, berbagi pengalaman, serta mengembangkan potensi diri di bidang seni. Melalui pendekatan yang adaptif terhadap perkembangan zaman, komunitas ini berupaya menjadi wadah inspiratif yang mampu mendorong lahirnya generasi muda kreatif dan berdaya saing tinggi di tingkat nasional maupun internasional. Hasil dari proyek ini adalah video promosi berdurasi 2 menit 23 detik yang berhasil menampilkan nilai-nilai komunitas seperti kreativitas, kolaborasi, dan inspirasi dengan pendekatan visual yang kohesif. Penerapan teknik montage editing terbukti meningkatkan kualitas naratif dan visual melalui penggunaan transisi editing seperti, jump cut, graphic match, fast cutting dan cross-cutting diterapkan untuk menghasilkan transisi yang halus, alur logis, serta pengalaman menonton yang menyatu secara visual. Keberhasilan teknik ini mendukung kelancaran komunikasi promosi dengan menjadikan pesan lebih mudah dipahami dan diterima audiens. Penggunaan CapCut juga dinilai efektif karena antarmuka yang mudah diakses dan fitur editing yang memadai.
This final report discusses the application of editing techniques used in the production of promotional advertising videos for Sangsanguniv Indonesia, a student community focused on developing the creativity of the younger generation. The background to this project is the importance of engaging and structured visual content in supporting digital promotions, particularly through video. Promotional advertising videos are one of the most effective forms of visual communication in building an institution's image and reaching a wider audience in the social media era. To achieve this communication effectiveness, appropriate editing techniques are required, one of which is montage editing, which aims to make the video more dynamic, structured, and diverse. This project includes systematic editing steps using the CapCut application, including creating a new project, importing footage, arranging visual material, adding effects and audio, and finalizing and publishing. The project subjects were active students at Sangsanguniv Indonesia, while the implementation location was Tarumanagara University. Data was collected through documentation of the production process and visual analysis of the final video. Tools and materials such as a laptop, external hard drive, earphones, narrative script, video footage, and editing software supported the entire production process. Sangsanguniv Indonesia is a student community focused on developing the creativity of the younger generation through various educational and collaborative activities. This community provides a space for students to express ideas, share experiences, and develop their potential in the arts. Through an adaptive approach to current developments, this community strives to be an inspiring platform capable of fostering the emergence of a creative and highly competitive young generation at the national and international levels. The result of this project was a 2-minute 23-second promotional video that successfully showcased community values ??such as creativity, collaboration, and inspiration with a cohesive visual approach. The application of montage editing techniques has been proven to enhance narrative and visual quality through the use of editing transitions such as jump cuts, graphic matches, fast cutting, and cross-cutting to create smooth transitions, a logical flow, and a visually unified viewing experience. The success of this technique supports the smoothness of promotional communication by making the message more easily understood and accepted by the audience. CapCut is also considered effective due to its easy-to-access interface and adequate editing features.
