PT XYZ is a company engaged in the brown paper industry, with a distribution system that is still not optimal. The main problem lies in the use of inefficient distribution routes, which causes wasted mileage and operational costs for delivery. This study aims to design an optimal distribution route using the Saving Matrix method, which is able to minimize the total distance and number of vehicles used. The study was conducted through direct observation in the logistics department, collecting data on distances between customer locations, vehicle capacity, and delivery requests. The results of the application of the Saving Matrix method show that the number of vehicles can be reduced from ten units to six units, so that if expressed as a percentage, vehicle savings become 40%. These savings directly impact the efficiency of operational costs and travel time, and provide a real solution to improve PT XYZ's distribution performance.
