| Abstract: | BHATARI ZAHRANI.
Salah satu unit produksinya, yaitu
Production Unit Jakarta, menjalankan proses produksinya dimulai dari blending,
filling, packaging hingga quality control.
permasalahan berupa tingginya angka defect internal yaitu berupa botol penyok
PT Pertamina Lubricants is a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga that focuses on the production and distribution of lubricants and has several production units in Indonesia. One of its production units, the Jakarta Production Unit, performs the production process starting from blending, filling, packaging, to quality control. In the bottle packaging filling process, one of them is at filling line (FL)-03 which produces Mesran Super, Mesran Super Motor, and Mesran MIN 40 SD lubricants, several issues were found such as the high number of internal defects such as dented bottles, unscramble issues, misaligned caps, torn shrink wraps, and other defects that reduce production effectiveness and efficiency. This research aims to analyze the main causes of the high number of packaging defects by focusing on types of bottle defects, with unscramble defects being the highest contributor, accounting for 47.27% of the total defects observed. To support the analysis and determine optimal solutions, this research uses several methods such as Statistical Quality Control (SQC), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), and the 5W+1H approach. The data processing results show a strong correlation between machine downtime and the increased number of defective products due to bottle defects caused by machine performance, operator training, and the quality of materials used. Improvement efforts were made by modifying the bottle guide and unscramble system so that bottles would no longer get stuck or be dented. In addition, the SAW method was used to determine the best alternative solutions by considering several criteria and sub-criteria. Various efforts to reduce defects in the production process are expected to increase total product output, maintain production process stability, and improve efficiency and company profitability in the long term. |
