| Abstract: | Ulos ditetapkan sebagai Warisan Budaya Tak Benda (WBTB) merupakan suatu harapan baru untuk melangkah menuju (world heritage) Kabupaten Samosir yang merupakan salah satu wilayah pembuatan kain Ulos yang diproduksi secara manual. Masyarakat belum sepenuhnya memahami pentingnya pelestarian budaya dan lingkungan dalam konteks pariwisata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi, preferensi wisatawan, faktor internal dan faktor eksternal yang berpengaruh bagi tenun Ulos. Data terkait potensi tenun Ulos dilakukan dengan menggunakan wawancara mendalam. Data Preferensi diambil dengan menyebar kuesioner kepada 200 orang. Analisis data menggunakan Analisis SWOT dalam matriks IFAS dan EFAS dan matriks SWOT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tenun Ulos Samosir memiliki nilai budaya tinggi dan diminati wisatawan muda lokal. Strategi pengembangan berada di kuadran I dan pengembangan yang harus diterapkan adalah strategi agresif (S-O) yang menggunakan kekuatan (internal) untuk memanfaatkan peluang (eksternal) yang ada. The designation of ulos as Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) represents a new hope for progress toward World Heritage status for Samosir Regency, one of the regions where ulos fabric is produced manually. The community does not yet fully understand the importance of cultural and environmental preservation in the context of tourism. This study aims to identify the potential, tourist preferences, internal factors, and external factors influencing Ulos weaving. Data on Ulos weaving potential was collected through in-depth interviews. Preference data was gathered by distributing questionnaires to 200 people. Data analysis utilized SWOT analysis in the IFAS and EFAS matrices and the SWOT matrix. The research findings indicate that Samosir Ulos weaving holds high cultural value and is popular among local young tourists. Development strategies are positioned in Quadrant I, and the recommended strategy is an aggressive strategy (S-O), which leverages internal strengths to capitalize on external opportunities. |
