Seagrass is a flowering plant (Angiosperms) which lives in shallow waters and has a role as a breeding ground for fish, a place to live and a source of food for marine animals. However, human activities such as throwing rubbish into the sea, fishing activities, and recreation on the beach can damage seagrass. This research aims to map the distribution and changes in area using methods Object-Based Image Analysis (OBIA) in the waters of Lancang Island, Seribu Islands. Data processing is carried out in two stages, namely image segmentation and classification. The segmentation process is carried out by trial and error by getting scale 50 at level 1, scale 10 at level 2, and scale 1 at level 3. The image classification results obtained three classes, namely non-seagrass, rare seagrass, and dense seagrass. In 2016 the seagrass area was 68.16 hectares and non-seagrass area was 123.11 hectares, in 2023 the seagrass area was 42.37 hectares and non-seagrass area was 146.59 hectares. There was a change in the area from seagrass to non-seagrass area of 37.84 hectares and non-seagrass area to seagrass area of 12.04 hectares. The seagrass class classification is experiencing a decline, while the non-seagrass and dense seagrass classes are increasing from 2016 to 2023. The seagrass class is experiencing a decrease of 37.88 hectares from the initial area. The non-seagrass and dense seagrass classes experienced an increase of 23.48 hectares and 12.1 hectares respectively from the initial area. The overall accuracy obtained was 70% using the confusion matrix method. |
