Batam City is one of the largest cities in Riau Islands Province which consists of several islands with Batam Island as the main island as well as the center of government, economy and community activities. The rapid development of facilities and infrastructure supporting population activities and industrial areas has reduced green open space on Batam Island. The study aims to determine the location of urban forest development on Batam Island by considering comparing five factors, namely land cover, vegetation density, surface temperature, spatial patterns, and industrial locations. Factor weighting is carried out using the Analytical Hierarchy Process, resulting in three priority classes for the locations for urban forest development on Batam Island. The area of priority 1 is 68 ha (0.2%) with the largest area in Sungai Beduk District, priority 2 has an area of 20.621 ha (49%) with the largest area located in Sungai Beduk District, and priority 3 has an area of 21.397 ha (50.8%) with Nongsa District being the largest area.
