The family, especially parents, is the child's closest environment and plays a caregiving role related to the child's social-emotional development. This study generally aims to analyze the influence of child characteristics, family characteristics, maternal sensitivity, and father’s involvement on the risk of social emotional development issues in preschool children in rural areas. This research employs an explanatory design involving 128 families with preschool-aged children in the Sragen Regency. The results indicate that boys tend to receive higher levels of maternal sensitivity and greater father involvement, and they are also more likely to be at higher risk for social-emotional development issues compared to girls. Additionally, higher parental education, particularly that of the father and mother, increases father involvement and maternal sensitivity. Regression tests further indicate that the increased risk of social-emotional development issues is influenced by lower parental education and lower maternal sensitivity.-
