Abstract: Asupan produk pangan kemasan pada kalangan remaja saat ini tergolong sangat tinggi. Kalangan remaja juga cenderung memilih makanan yang disukai saja dan belum memperhatikan faktor gizi dan kesehatan, bahkan tanpa menggunakan label gizi sebagai pertimbangan pembelian dan konsumsi produk tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis kebiasaan membaca label informasi nilai gizi dan preferensi konsumsi produk pangan kemasan terhadap keputusan pemilihan produk pangan kemasan remaja SMAN 1 Margahayu. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional study yang melibatkan 102 subjek. Pengumpulan data kebiasaan membaca informasi nilai gizi, preferensi konsumsi, dan keputusan pemilihan produk pangan kemasan dilakukan melalui kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari separuh subjek (66%) memiliki kebiasaan membaca label informasi nilai gizi yang tergolong kurang, dan keputusan memilih produk kemasan berdasarkan gizi yang juga tergolong kurang (87%). Preferensi klaim gizi yang paling banyak yang disukai subjek yaitu sumber/tinggi kalsium (95,1%), zinc (95,1%), dan vitamin (93,1%). Uji korelasi menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara kebiasaan membaca label nilai gizi dengan preferensi produk berklaim rendah garam (p=0,005), serta antara kebiasaan membaca label informasi nilai gizi dengan keputusan pemilihan produk pangan kemasan (p=0,005). Namun, tidak ditemukan hubungan yang signifikan antara preferensi klaim gizi produk kemasan dengan keputusan pemilihan produk pangan kemasan subjek.
The intake of packaged food products among adolescents currently is very high. Teenagers also tend to choose foods that they like and do not pay attention to nutrition and health factors, even without using nutrition facts label as a consideration for purchasing and consuming these products. The purpose of this study is to analyze the habit of reading nutrition facts label and consumption preferences of packaged food products on the decision to choose packaged food products for adolescents of SMAN 1 Margahayu. This study uses cross sectional study design involving 102 subjects. Data collection on the habit of reading nutrition facts label, consumption preferences, and the decision to choose packaged food products was conducted through questionnaires. The results showed that more than half of the subjects (66%) have the habit of reading nutrition facts label that were classified as poor, and the decision to choose packaged products based on nutrition was also classified as poor (87%). The most preferred nutritional claims were source/high in calcium (95,1%), zinc (95,1%), and vitamins (93,1%). Correlation tests showed a significant relationship between the habit of reading nutritional value labels and the preference for products with low salt claims (p=0.005), as well as between the habit of reading nutritional value information labels and the decision to choose packaged food products (p=0.005). However, no significant relationship was found between the preference for nutritional claims of packaged products and the selection decision of packaged food products of the subjects.
