dc.description.abstractPemuasaan ikan sebelum transportasi bisa mengurangi stres dan kematian ikan yang diangkut. Proyek Akhir berupa penelitian terapan bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama pemuasaan terhadap kadar glukosa darah dan kelulushidupan ikan manfish. Penelitian ini menggunakan empat perlakuan lama pemuasaan yaitu 0, 16, 24, dan 40 jam, dengan tiga pengulangan untuk setiap perlakuan. Sebanyak 144 ekor ikan manfish dengan berat rata-rata 2,5±1,0 g dimasukkan ke dalam 12 akuarium untuk dipuasakan. Setelah pemuasaan, ikan diangkut menggunakan mobil selama 5 jam dengan jarak tempuh 91 km, kemudian diukur kadar glukosa darah dan tingkat kelulushidupannya. Kadar glukosa darah terendah ditemukan pada ikan yang dipuasakan selama 24–40 jam yakni 48,44–71,44 mg/dL (P<0,05). Tingkat kelulushidupan mencapai 100% pada semua perlakuan. Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa lama pemuasaan yang ideal untuk ikan manfish ukuran 2,5±1,0 g yang diangkut dengan jarak tempuh 91 km adalah 24 jam.-
dc.description.abstractPretransport fasting can reduce stress and mortality in transported fish. This final project aims to determine the effect of fasting duration on blood glucose levels and survival of manfish. This study used four fasting duration treatments: 0, 16, 24, and 40 hours, with three replications for each treatment. A total of 144 manfish with an average weight of 2,5±1,0 g were placed in 12 aquariums for fasting. After fasting, the fish were transported by car for 5 hours with a distance of 91 km, then their blood glucose levels and survival rates were measured. The lowest blood glucose levels were found in fish fasted for 24–40 hours, which were 48,44–71,44 mg/dL (P<0,05). Survival rates reached 100% in all treatments. This study shows that the ideal fasting duration for manfish weighing 2,5±1,0 g transported over short distances of up to 91 km is 24 hours.-
